Events and News

Independent Choices have been working to support women in domestic abuse situations since 1978. A large part of our work is to promote the issue of domestic abuse so that women’s rights and are known and women’s choices are widened.

Our events and activities are held within Greater Manchester to promote increase partnership working across the region.

We regularly hold events within the week around International Women’s day (8th March) and the 16 days of activism against gender violence (25th November 10th December). Please watch out for events during these periods.

Three of our Organisational objectives within our Business Plan 2008-2011 are to
  • Ensure that service users and their dependents needs remain central to all service and projects through consistent consultation, monitoring, feedback and dialogue.
  • Actively promote the work of the organisation to raise awareness of domestic abuse, its impact and associated issues.
  • Create and participate in networks and partnerships to develop a range of domestic abuse services for women and their dependents.

We further promote domestic abuse awareness by annual poster and media campaigns and also by providing bespoke training for more information contact
